This exhibition is a focus on the method of translation and how materials can influence that translation. What is seen is hinted in the space between formal abstraction and the concrete image, the iterations of object studies fabricated or skillfully mastered from influence to finalized depictions. The window is designed by Theo Mullen who was influenced by the architectural design of a 1950's Esso gas station. Working with Sketchup as a tool that renders a landscape in a non-space or rather an essentialized landscape, it allows function to contrast and harmonize with the work that has gone through a transformation. Playing with the tone of the exhibition, the work is familiar and yet haunting, in the same way the landscape and isolated structure exists on the virtual plane. Theo purposefully postured the sculptures and paintings in a state of equilibrium post transformation as a new way of seeing and experiencing the work. Please enjoy Causal Loop!
